Description

A warm, creamy soup that tastes like a classic burger in a bowl, featuring browned beef, vegetables, and melted cheddar.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 2 cups potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 1 cup carrots, diced
  • 1 cup celery, diced
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Chopped green onions (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Heat a large pot over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess grease.
  2. Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the pot. Sauté until the onion is soft and translucent, about 5 minutes.
  3. Pour in the beef broth and bring it to a boil.
  4. Add the diced potatoes, carrots, celery, oregano, salt, and pepper. Reduce the heat and simmer until the vegetables are tender, about 15–20 minutes.
  5. Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese, milk, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix until the cheese melts and the soup turns creamy.
  6. Serve the soup hot. Garnish with chopped green onions.

Notes

Use lean ground beef to reduce grease and manage salt levels.
