- 1 lb chicken thighs
- 4 green onions
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup sake (optional)
- 1/4 cup soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
- 2 tbsp vegetarian oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp neutral oil (like avocado oil)
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 2 tbsp soy sauce (for glaze)
- 1 tbsp honey (for glaze)
Instructions
- Cut the chicken thighs into bite-sized pieces. Marinate them with garlic, sake (if using), soy sauce, vegetarian oyster sauce, neutral oil, and sesame oil. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- Preheat your grill or grill pan.
- Thread the marinated chicken and green onions onto skewers.
- Grill the skewers for about 5-7 minutes on each side. Brush the skewers with the glaze made from soy sauce and honey during the last few minutes of cooking.
- Serve hot and enjoy your Chicken Yakitori!
