Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 celery stalks, finely chopped
  • 1 large carrot, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup dry sherry

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, melt butter over medium heat.
  2. Add onion, celery, and carrot; sauté until softened.
  3. Stir in garlic and cook for another minute.
  4. Sprinkle flour over vegetables and stir well to combine.
  5. Gradually add dry sherry, stirring to avoid lumps.
  6. Pour in broth or water as desired, letting the mixture come to a simmer.
  7. Add the crab meat and shrimp, cooking until the shrimp turns pink and the crab is heated through.
  8. Season to taste and serve warm.
