Description

Delightful Japanese dumplings with a crispy bottom and juicy filling, perfect for any meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 pound ground pork (or chicken)
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 1/4 cup shredded cabbage
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the flour and water to form a dough. Knead until smooth, then let it rest for 30 minutes.
  2. In another bowl, combine the ground meat, green onions, cabbage, minced garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper.
  3. Roll the dough into small balls and flatten each into circles.
  4. Place a spoonful of filling in the center of each wrapper. Fold and crimp to seal well.
  5. Heat a bit of oil in a pan over medium heat. Place the gyoza in the pan and fry until they turn golden.
  6. Add a splash of water and cover the pan to steam for 5-7 minutes.
  7. Serve hot and enjoy with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

Knead the dough well for a smooth texture. Avoid overfilling the wrappers. Ensure the oil is hot when frying to achieve perfect crispness.
