Description
A cozy, melt-in-your-mouth meal made with slow-cooked beef chuck roast, served on hoagie rolls with rich au jus.
Ingredients

- 2 pounds beef chuck roast
- 1 onion, sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 cup water
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 6 hoagie rolls
- Sliced provolone cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Place the beef chuck roast in the slow cooker.
- Add the sliced onion and minced garlic on top of the roast.
- Pour in the beef broth, water, Worcestershire sauce, and soy sauce.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until the meat is tender.
- Once cooked, shred the beef with two forks and mix it with the juices.
- Serve the shredded beef in hoagie rolls. Top with provolone cheese if desired and provide a small bowl of au jus for dipping.
Notes
You can trim excess fat from the roast for a leaner option. For a spicy twist, stir in a pinch of red pepper flakes.
