  • 1 cup warm milk

  • 3 ½ to 4 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Dissolve the yeast in warm milk with a teaspoon of sugar and let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large bowl, combine melted butter, sugar, egg, and salt. Mix well.
  3. Stir in the yeast mixture. Gradually add flour until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  6. Punch down the dough and roll it out into a rectangle.
  7. Spread softened butter over the dough, mix brown sugar and cinnamon, and sprinkle over the buttered dough.
  8. Roll up the dough tightly and cut into 12 pieces.
  9. Place rolls in a greased baking dish. Cover and let them rise for about 30 minutes.
  10. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  11. Meanwhile, prepare the creamy glaze by whisking together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla.
  12. Drizzle the glaze over warm cinnamon rolls.
