Description

Delicate and colorful French macarons with a crispy exterior and chewy interior, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 110g almond flour
  • 200g powdered sugar
  • 100g egg whites (about 3 large eggs)
  • 50g granulated sugar
  • 1/4 tsp cream of tartar
  • Flavoring extracts (e.g., vanilla, almond)
  • Food coloring (optional)
  • Filling (e.g., buttercream, ganache, or jam)

Instructions

  1. Sift together the almond flour and powdered sugar in a bowl to remove lumps.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk the egg whites until frothy.
  3. Gradually add the granulated sugar and cream of tartar while beating until stiff peaks form.
  4. Gently fold in the almond mixture along with your chosen flavoring and food coloring.
  5. Pipe small rounds onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Allow the piped macarons to sit for 30-60 minutes until a skin forms on top.
  7. Preheat your oven to 150°C (300°F) and bake the macarons for 15-20 minutes.
  8. Once baked, let the macarons cool completely, then sandwich them with your desired filling.

Notes

Use a kitchen scale for accurate measurements. Allow macarons to rest before baking for the best texture. Experiment with different flavors and colors.
