A warm and simple ham soup that blends savory ham with soft potatoes and tender vegetables, offering a cozy and filling dish perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups diced ham
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 carrots, diced
  • 2 celery sticks, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup potatoes, diced
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat a bit of oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Sauté the onion, carrots, and celery until they soften.
  3. Add the garlic and cook for about 1 minute.
  4. Stir in the diced ham and cook for a few minutes to warm it.
  5. Pour in the chicken broth. Add the potatoes and thyme.
  6. Bring the soup to a boil, then lower the heat to a simmer.
  7. Cook for about 20 minutes, until the potatoes are tender.
  8. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  9. Serve hot, topped with fresh parsley.

Notes

For a richer soup, add a splash of cream. Use leftover ham for added value. Redistribute potatoes for a thicker texture.
