- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- Chocolate chips or icing for decoration (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a heart-shaped baking pan.
- In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat.
- Remove from heat and stir in the sugar, eggs, and vanilla.
- Beat in the cocoa, flour, salt, and baking powder.
- Spread the batter into the prepared baking pan.
- Bake for 20 to 25 minutes; do not overcook.
- Let cool before cutting into heart shapes.
- Decorate with chocolate chips or icing if desired.
Notes
Serve warm or at room temperature, optionally with ice cream. Store in an airtight container for 3-4 days.
