Delightful heart-shaped cookies with a soft, buttery texture, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Red and pink sprinkles (for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream the softened butter, granulated sugar, and powdered sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the egg yolk and vanilla extract until completely combined.
  4. Gradually add the flour and salt, mixing until the dough forms.
  5. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch thick.
  6. Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out cookies and arrange them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Sprinkle red and pink decorations on top before baking.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  9. Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
