Description

Delightful heart-shaped chocolate chip cookies that add a personal touch to any occasion, combining buttery dough with gooey chocolate chips.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • Red or pink sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. In another bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Stir in the chocolate chips.
  6. Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out shapes from the dough and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. If desired, sprinkle red or pink sprinkles on top of the cookies.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden.
  9. Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

For the best texture, use room-temperature butter and don’t overmix the dough. For chewier cookies, slightly underbake them.
