Description

A comforting and hearty casserole blending ground beef, potatoes, and cheese, perfect for busy weeknights.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 4 medium potatoes, sliced
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 2 cups shredded cheese
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, brown the ground beef and onion over medium heat until fully cooked; drain excess grease.
  3. In a greased casserole dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes, then add half of the cooked ground beef mixture.
  4. Spread half of the cream of mushroom soup over the beef and sprinkle with half of the shredded cheese.
  5. Repeat the layers, finishing with the remaining cheese on top.
  6. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 1 hour.
  7. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  8. Let it cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For the best texture, avoid cutting the potatoes too thin. Feel free to add spices for extra flavor.
