- 2 chicken breasts or pork cutlets
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- Vegetable oil for frying
- 4 cups cooked fluffy rice
- 1/2 cup tonkatsu sauce
- Green onions for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Season the chicken or pork with salt and pepper.
- Dredge each piece in flour, dip into the beaten eggs, then coat with panko breadcrumbs.
- Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
- Fry the katsu until golden brown and cooked through, about 4-5 minutes per side.
- Remove from the pan and let drain on paper towels.
- Slice the katsu and serve over cooked rice.
- Drizzle with tonkatsu sauce and garnish with chopped green onions if desired.
Notes
Ensure the oil is hot before frying for the best texture. Don’t overcrowd the pan; fry in batches if necessary.
