Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 chicken breasts or pork cutlets
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • 4 cups cooked fluffy rice
  • 1/2 cup tonkatsu sauce
  • Green onions for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken or pork with salt and pepper.
  2. Dredge each piece in flour, dip into the beaten eggs, then coat with panko breadcrumbs.
  3. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  4. Fry the katsu until golden brown and cooked through, about 4-5 minutes per side.
  5. Remove from the pan and let drain on paper towels.
  6. Slice the katsu and serve over cooked rice.
  7. Drizzle with tonkatsu sauce and garnish with chopped green onions if desired.

Notes

Ensure the oil is hot before frying for the best texture. Don’t overcrowd the pan; fry in batches if necessary.
