- Red and pink sprinkles for decoration
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract, if using.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until combined.
- Roll the dough into a ball, then flatten it and wrap it in plastic. Chill in the fridge for 30 minutes.
- Once chilled, roll out the dough on a floured surface to about ¼ inch thick.
- Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out cookies and place them on a baking sheet.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Allow to cool and decorate with sprinkles before serving.
