Description

A delightful shrimp casserole that combines shrimp and cheese for a comforting meal perfect for gatherings or family dinners.


Ingredients

  • 2 pounds large shrimp (2124 count), peeled and deveined
  • 1 tablespoon Old Bay seasoning, plus 1 tablespoon salt for cooking water
  • 2/3 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon butter, plus more to grease the pan
  • 1/2 cup panko bread crumbs
  • 4 ounces shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 4 ounces shredded medium cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 2 1/2 quart casserole dish with butter.
  2. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add Old Bay seasoning.
  3. Add the shrimp and cook until they turn opaque, about 30 seconds. Drain the shrimp and transfer them to a bowl.
  4. Add mayonnaise, garlic powder, and pepper to the shrimp. Stir until the shrimp are well coated.
  5. Add the cheeses and mix again to combine. Transfer this mixture to the prepared casserole dish.
  6. Melt the butter and stir in the bread crumbs. Sprinkle the bread crumb mixture over the shrimp.
  7. Bake uncovered for 13-15 minutes, or until the center reaches 145°F. Broil for 1-2 minutes to brown the crumbs on top.
  8. Let the casserole rest for 15 minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve warm with a green salad or crusty bread. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days.
