Description

A delicious and simple dish featuring tender chicken smothered in creamy sour cream and melted cheese.


Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (divided)
  • 4 slices mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Place the chicken breasts in the prepared baking dish in a single layer.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine sour cream, 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, cornstarch, oregano, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Stir until well-blended.
  4. Place a slice of mozzarella cheese on top of each chicken breast.
  5. Spread the sour cream mixture evenly over each chicken breast and sprinkle the remaining Parmesan on top.
  6. Bake for about 60 minutes, until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) and the cheese is golden.
  7. Allow to stand for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

For added flavor, consider adding crushed red pepper flakes or incorporating vegetables like spinach or mushrooms.
