A flaky pastry filled with creamy cheese and fresh strawberries, perfect for breakfast, brunch, or dessert.

- 1 sheet puff pastry
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
- 1/4 cup strawberry jam
- 1 egg, for egg wash
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Lightly flour a work surface. Roll out the puff pastry and cut it into rectangles.
- In a bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with sugar and vanilla until smooth.
- Spoon a portion of the cream cheese mix into the center of each pastry rectangle.
- Add sliced strawberries on top of the cream cheese.
- Fold the four corners of each rectangle over the filling to form a pocket.
- Beat the egg and brush it over each pastry for a golden finish.
- Bake for 15–20 minutes, until the pastry is puffed and golden brown.
- Warm the strawberry jam while the pastries bake. Brush the jam over the hot Danish right after they come out of the oven.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Serve warm or at room temperature. Dust with powdered sugar before serving and pair with coffee or tea.
