Description

A flaky pastry filled with creamy cheese and fresh strawberries, perfect for breakfast, brunch, or dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet puff pastry
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1/4 cup strawberry jam
  • 1 egg, for egg wash

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Lightly flour a work surface. Roll out the puff pastry and cut it into rectangles.
  3. In a bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with sugar and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Spoon a portion of the cream cheese mix into the center of each pastry rectangle.
  5. Add sliced strawberries on top of the cream cheese.
  6. Fold the four corners of each rectangle over the filling to form a pocket.
  7. Beat the egg and brush it over each pastry for a golden finish.
  8. Bake for 15–20 minutes, until the pastry is puffed and golden brown.
  9. Warm the strawberry jam while the pastries bake. Brush the jam over the hot Danish right after they come out of the oven.
  10. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Serve warm or at room temperature. Dust with powdered sugar before serving and pair with coffee or tea.
