Description
A creamy, comforting seafood casserole packed with shrimp, scallops, white fish, and crab meat, perfect for family dinners and gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 pound scallops
- 1 pound white fish, such as cod or haddock, cut into 1-inch chunks
- 1 cup lump crab meat
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 1 cup celery, chopped
- 1 cup carrots, diced
- 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 cups seafood stock or fish stock
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 3-quart casserole dish.
- Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onion, celery, carrots, and mushrooms. Cook until the vegetables are softened, about 6 minutes.
- Add garlic and sauté for an additional minute.
- Sprinkle flour over the softened vegetables and stir to combine. Gradually whisk in the seafood stock followed by the heavy cream. Add Old Bay seasoning, paprika, dried thyme, and lemon juice. Simmer, stirring often, until the sauce thickens, about 5 to 7 minutes.
- Gently fold in the shrimp, scallops, white fish pieces, and crab meat. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes, stirring carefully until the seafood begins to turn opaque. Season with salt and black pepper as desired.
- Transfer the seafood mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
- In a small bowl, combine the breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan, and chopped parsley. Sprinkle this topping evenly over the casserole.
- Bake in the center of the oven for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the filling is bubbling around the edges.
- Serve hot, garnished with extra parsley if desired. Enjoy with crusty bread or a crisp salad!
