- Bright White Gel Food Coloring
- Super Red Gel Food Coloring
- Bubblegum Pink Gel Food Coloring
- Toothpick or Scribe Tool
Instructions
- Bake and cool the cookies fully before decorating.
- Prepare royal icing in red, pink, and light pink using the right consistencies.
- Outline the heart shape with light pink outline consistency royal icing.
- Flood the shape with light pink flood consistency royal icing. Use a toothpick or scribe tool for coverage.
- Pipe pink flood consistency royal icing onto the wet base icing, creating small “v” shapes all in the same direction until filled.
- Add small red “v” shapes between the pink ones.
- Using the scribe tool or toothpick, drag the icing to create designs.
- Outline the heart shape with pink outline consistency royal icing.
- Flood the shape with pink flood consistency royal icing.
- Pipe a border of dots around the heart with light pink flood consistency royal icing, then add red dots in between.
- Outline the heart shape with red outline consistency royal icing.
- Flood the shape with red flood consistency royal icing.
- Pipe a border of large dots with pink flood consistency royal icing.
- Drag the scribe tool or toothpick through the dots until finished.
Notes
Ensure cookies are completely cool before decorating to prevent melting icing. Practice piping beforehand for better results.
