Instructions
- In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract if using.
- Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until a dough forms.
- Chill the dough for at least one hour.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface and cut out shapes.
- Place on baking sheets and bake for 8-10 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
- Allow cooling completely before decorating with royal icing.
Notes
Ensure that the butter is at room temperature for easier mixing. Don’t skip chilling the dough for better shaping. Use quality food coloring for vibrant icing colors.
