- 1 cup almond flour
- 1 3/4 cup powdered sugar
- 4 large egg whites
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup white chocolate, melted
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar (for buttercream)
- 1 tablespoon rose water
- Dried rose petals (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, combine almond flour and powdered sugar, then sift.
- In a separate bowl, beat egg whites until foamy, gradually adding granulated sugar until stiff peaks form.
- Fold in the almond flour mixture and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Pipe small rounds onto the prepared baking sheet.
- Let the macarons sit for 30-60 minutes until a skin forms.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, then cool.
- For the buttercream, beat together melted white chocolate, butter, rose water, and powdered sugar until smooth.
- Pipe the buttercream onto half of the macaron shells and sandwich them together.
- Drizzle with more white chocolate and garnish with dried rose petals.
Notes
Make sure to let the macarons rest before baking to achieve a smooth top and ruffled feet.
