- 20 oz cheese tortellini
- 1 lb steak (sirloin or ribeye)
- Salt
- Black pepper
- Garlic powder
- Smoked paprika
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 4 tbsp butter
- 5 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3/4 cup whole milk
- 1 1/4 cups parmesan, shredded
- Parsley, chopped (optional)
- Red pepper flakes (optional)
- Cracked black pepper (optional garnish)
Instructions
- Boil a large pot of salted water, add tortellini, and cook according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Season the steak with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat, add steak and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side. Remove from skillet and let rest.
- In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute. Stir in heavy cream and whole milk.
- Slowly add parmesan cheese to the sauce, mixing until melted and smooth.
- Slice the steak, add back to the skillet along with tortellini, and stir to coat with the sauce.
- Taste and adjust seasoning. If desired, sprinkle in red pepper flakes.
Notes
For a richer flavor, add Italian seasoning or fresh herbs. Make sure not to overcook the steak and adjust heavy cream for an extra creamy sauce.
